2. The Key Training Principles.


In all the research and literature the main training principles which have been proven, over and over again, are:

·         Training should be scientific – based on measured intensity and time,  with progressive development of the relevant body systems over time.

·         Each element of the body’s system should be trained for the specific event to be competed in (short and medium distance time trials).

·         The aim is to produce the optimum effect with no wasted training time or effort.

Thus the key principles are:

“Scientific, progressive and specific
 to produce the optimum effect”.
